PACRE holds 4th Annual Conference and General Assembly

The Philippine Association of Religious Educators, Inc. (PACRE) will hold its 4th Annual Conference and General Assembly on May 11, 2019 (Saturday) at the President’s Hall, University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, Bacolod City. The theme of the conference is “Catholic Education and Well-being.”  The said activity is a venue for all members of the association to keep abreast with the current trends, issues, and challenges in Catholic education. Likewise, it will be an opportune time to strengthen our sense of communion as a professional association of religion teachers.

Rev. Fr. Daniel Franklin Pilario, CM, Rector, St. Vincent School of Theology, Quezon City will be the keynote speaker. He is a member of the Congregation of Mission (CM) Provincial Council Philippines and currently the Dean of the Saint Vincent School of Theology and a member of the Board of Trustees in Adamson-Ozanam Educational Foundation. He is a founding member and former president of DAKATEO (Catholic Theological Society of the Philippines). He is also a Formation Team member of the De Paul House in Quezon City and a guest minister in Parokya ng Ina ng Lupang Pangako in Payatas Quezon City.

The program of activities will start with the Eucharistic celebration at 8:30 A.M. with Rev. Fr. Deogracias Camon, Ph.D. as the main celebrant and homilist. The opening formalities will follow at around 9:45 A.M. with the welcoming of the participants and an opening message from Dr. Alexander Viaje, Board of Directors. Then, the keynote message will be delivered by Fr. Danny Pilario, CM around 10:00 A.M. which will be followed by an open forum.

Meanwhile, the General Assembly will be held in the afternoon with the presentation and discussion of the Accomplishment and Financial Reports of the Association for FY 2018-2019. Also, pertinent matters will be discussed during the open forum.

In addition, a book launch will be part of the afternoon activities with the launching of Fr. Camon’s book on “The Believing Filipino Catholic Youth: A Search for a New Narrative.” Published by the Philippine Association of Religious Educators, the book was earlier released last March 2019.
